A problem I encountered and how I managed to solve it
I would start off by saying today was my unlucky day! Let me tell you what had happened.
As I was walking to the bus stop, enjoying the cool and refreshing morning breeze, the sound of the bus approaching could be heard. As I started to chase after it, the bus driver, after seeing that there was not a single person boarding the bus, he drove off without even turning into the bus stop. Fearing that I would be late for school, I walked to Bedok bus interchange to board the bus services 196 or 197 to school instead of waiting for the next bus to the bus interchange.
Fortunately, I was on time for school. School was fine today and there was not much highlights. We had CCA again today until 4.30pm.
A moment, the sky was still bright and sunny. The next moment, the sky ominous and a heavy downpour followed. I was walking to the bus stop when it happened. As I reached for my umbrella, my hand came out empty! I had forgotten to bring my umbrella! It was raining cats and dogs and I did not bring my umbrella. 'Great'! I thought. I had to go home drenched! However, to make it better, I took out a set of newspaper from my bag to block as much rain as possible. A brisk walk turned into a run when the merciless rain turned heavier. I felt helpless due to my forgetfulness.
I heaved a huge sigh of relief when I reached home and took a hot bath immediately. Suddenly, I felt as if it was two different worlds. I hoped this incident would be the last one! I would not want it to happen again!

A moment I spent alone doing something I enjoy
It's yet another Saturday morning and I had to prepare to go to CCA again. 4 days of CCA in a week sounds a bit ridiculous but it's true. We have to prepare and work hard for the Singapore Youth Festival competition in April. So here we are in the Chinese Orchestra room, practising:
The practice lasted till 12pm.
Bedok Reservoir
After CCA, I went home to have my lunch before walking to Bedok Reservoir to have a jog there. Jogging was something I enjoy doing as it could relieve stress and it makes you feel rejuvenated. After such a tiring week, jogging allows me to forget about everything. It is very important, especially for overly-stressful people. Nowadays, the weather is more cooling and not so humid, so I often go for a jog or stroll alone. As I jog slowly, I can take in the fresh air, which calms the mind, and also look at the beautiful surroundings of trees and the reservoir. As always, there are many people exercising there. Small kids, adults and even elderly people are there enjoying the tranquility of the surroundings. Jogging is a form of exercise and keeps me healthy. Now that the NAPFA test in Secondary School includes the 2.4km run, I would go jogging more often in order to train my stamina. I jogged for around 30 minutes and went to get a refreshing drink.
Singapore Conference Hall
At 7pm, I am going to watch a Chinese Orchestra concert held at the Singapore Conference Hall with some of my CO seniors and friends. It's free of charge and I hope it will be interesting!

Something unusual that happened
Today morning, I woke up feeling exceptionally sleepy. I washed up and had my breakfast before heading for school. I trudged towards the lift and pressed the button. I entered the lift and had forgotten to press the 'Level 1' button. The door closed and the whirling of the vent in the lift stopped. I thought the lift had broken down and panicked! However, to my own surprise, I was the one who was scaring myself. I did not even press the 'Level 1' button, so the lift did not move! Silly me!
Guess what's this?
What an unusual start to the day! What's next? I thought. In school, during mathematics lesson, there was a special visitor in our class! Guess 'who'? There was a bird that flew into our classroom and flew around in the classroom! We were all very afraid that it would hit the blades of the fans! It caused great disruption to the class as it flew in and out before setting down finally at one of the window panes on the top. It chirped rhythmically. At first, we didn't know what was the bird chirping for but later, we found out that it was trying to attract another bird nearby. The other bird then flew to our classroom to meet up with the first bird. However, it was unable to squeeze through the window pane to get in. It tried many times to no avail. By now, everyone, including our teacher, was looking at our 'special visitors'! Several of us fished out our phones to take a picture of the bird, although we were not supposed to use our phones! After around 10 minutes, the first bird flew off, in search of its mate. What a scene! After the birds flew away, we resumed our lesson. We had not experienced any of this situation before! Not only the birds were not afraid of us, they even flew in and out of our classroom!
We had CCA until late afternoon and I was preparing to take the public bus home. I saw the bus from far and ran towards it before it's too late. The bus was already quite full and there were no more available seats. Then, in came this frail-looking, wrinkled-faced elderly woman. A gentleman offered his seat to the elderly woman. I saw her as an ordinary elderly after shopping for groceries. However, as she settled down in her seat, she started to talk very loudly, 'scolding' people for no reason at all! I felt awkward standing in front of her as everyone was having their eyes shifted to this elderly woman. I was relieved to alight from the bus when it reached my home, as she was making a din in the peaceful, air-conditioned bus and I concluded that any person with right mentality would not do such a thing! I also felt sympathetic for the elderly woman.
What a day of unusual things happening!

Something that happened in school
Today was a fine day. Thanks to the good O'level results from the Secondary Four seniors of 2010, we received a half-school day. Mr Low set it to today, so we were dimissed earlier at 10.45am, instead of 1.40 pm! During assembly, some students from a Secondary School in North China came to VS for a visit. They were going to the Secondary Three classes to experience the studying conditions in VS. They all looked very smart!
We had CDE-TTT lessons afterwards. Before our teachers came, we took the time to continue on our CNY class decorations. Thanks to the class effort, we completed much and the class doesn't look too plain any more now!
During CDE, Mr Tan showed us 2 inspiring videos. One was about a man called Nick Vucinic. He was without both legs and arms but he loves life. Although he faces so many difficulties without his arms and legs, he overcomes them all, such as falling down and gets back up. Everyone knows that without limbs, falling down and getting up again is one difficult task. But he doesn't give up. He would try till he succeeds. That is what we should learn from Mr. Vucinic. Another one was about a man from China who doesn't have both arms. However, he still plays the piano and even won a talent show. From these 2 examples, we can learn from them that sheer determination and good attitude are important for us to succeed in everything we do. After watching these 2 videos, I feel touched and it suits Adidas's motto, 'Impossible is Nothing'.
From this 2 motivational videos, I had learnt that life is filled with many obstacles but if you have the courage to overcome them, you would succeed, no matter how many times you fail.
I had CCA, which was Chinese Orchestra after school and at 1.05pm, we were dismissed. We then headed to Bedok Point to have our lunch. It was raining again when I was reaching home. That's all I have to share today, good bye!

A moment spent with my family
Saturday is a day when I spent time with my family as my dad have his day-off on Saturday and we would go out for dinner and for a walk at malls etc. As for today, we went to 'Bedok Point' , the new shopping centre in Bedok, for our dinner. As usual, Bedok Central was packed with people, especially now, it's nearing the Chinese New Year. Festive decorations were all put up around streets and I could feel the great atmosphere. After a hearty meal at Bedok Point, my family and I went 'festive shopping' at Sheng Siong Supermarket! The supermarket was packed with people and it was difficult to walk! We bought some festive decorations and Chinese New Year snacks.
It was nearly 8pm in the evening when we left for home. The bus interchange was exceptionally crowded with people waiting to go home and everyone were scrambling to get on the buses! We waited for quite long for our bus and finally boarded Bus Service 222 to go home and we chatted merrily about the upcoming Chinese New Year.
When we reached home, our legs were sore with all the walking! We then turned on the TV for some entertainment. Watching TV together is a time I love as we could all sit together and watch TV programmes for entertainment. Saturday was also the time when my dad, sister and I would watch the soccer matches!
Saturday is the time in the week when I would spend time with my beloved family and savour all the moments spent. =D Well, it's time to go. Bye!

Today, Jing Kai, Wei Jie and I stayed back in school to start on the class decoration for the upcoming Chinese New Year. But before that, there was Home Economics lesson, where we baked 'Queen Cakes'. It was simply muffins. =D We got our hamds on the electrical beater. According to Miss Hashima, we were the first to use them! I worked with Nicholas to bake. The kitchen was filled with the aroma of the muffins. It was fun baking the muffins and the result was of our work was satisfactory as we got a 5/5 marks!!It was quite tasty, too!
After Home Economics, Jing Kai, Wei Jie and I headed straight to class to start on the class decoration. There was a quite a lot of craft work to do and we did as much as we could. As the cloth was not ready to be put on the notice board, we could not hang all the work we did today on the notice board yet, so we kept them in the cupboard. I really hope the hard work of us would turn into rewards if we could win the Victorian Class Award at the end of the year!

We had the first period of PE lesson of 2011 today. We played soccer and it was very fun. We were split into groups according to our register numbers and played against one another. I feel that PE lessons are very important as we can have fun together as a class and also have some fun after studying.
Straight after PE was recess, when we can rejuvenate ourselves after using much energy.
During Chemistry lesson, we received the results of our first class tests. I missed full marks by 1 mark! However, I'm quite pleased with it. =)
After school dismissal, Firhan, Bryan Koh and I went with Mdm faezah to the class-tee ordering shop, ArtServe, to get our class t-shirts ordered. We felt a sense of relief and satisfactory after the class t-shirts have been finally done and ready in 2 weeks' time!
On the whole, today was a pleasant day.
